(Q) What is Afrika Huis? |

(A) Afrika Huis is a project of the Society
of African Mission with the following objectives:
(1) To help African immigrants in Amsterdam
by providing a healthy and friendly environment for the new
comers (especially those who are stranded) and also for the
already settled immigrants, where they can have contact and
interact with each other, consequently, experience inner peace
and feel at home in their new environment.
(2) To proclaim the Good News of Our Lord
Jesus Christ to the African Immigrants through the Chaplaincy
"All Saints' Church"

(Q) Is All Saints' Church separate from Afrika
Huis?
(A) Afrika Huis was made up of two sections; All Saints' Church for the pastoral
and diaconal objectives and The Huiskamer for social and humanitarian
objectives. Both of the sections were runned by the SMA. ( Since July 2006, the Huiskamer is nolonger in existence)

(Q) What can Afrika Huis do for African Immigrants?
(A) Afrika Huis help stranded African Immigrants
to secure accommodation in hotels for some number of days.
She assist sick stranded African Immigrant to get medical
treatment in the hospitals.
She gives counseling to the Immigrants that are in distress
and emotional truma.
She provides a hangout place for people who are jobless.
She offers free food to the stranded and jobless African
Immigrants. |

(Q) What makes Afrika Huis different from other
Catholic church in the Netherlands?
(A) In Afrika Huis, the worshippers are made-up
of people from different nationalities and people of diverse
ages (both young and old).
The church service is very lively whereby African musical
instruments are used by the choristers, the rhythm of the
instruments and the nice melody will always move you to dance.
Besides, the cheerful, beautiful and enthusiastic faces will make
you feel fabulous.
Moreover, the congregation is very friendly and welcoming.

Africans?
(A) Afrika Huis welcomes everybody irrespective
of your nationality, creed, race or colour

(Q) Is All Saints' Church a Parish?
(A) All Saints' Church is a Quasi-Parish
under the Diocese of Haarlem but she is working towards becoming a Parish in the nearest future.

(Q) Does Afrika Huis has accommodation for stranded
African Immigrants?
(A) Afrika Huis does not have accommodation
for stranded immigrant. She does provides accommodation for stranded
immigrant in youth hostels and hotels for some number of days.
